The Constitutional Council proclaimed the final results of the first round of presidential elections.

The Ivorian Independent Electoral Commission announced of the provisional results of the first round of presidential elections. (Incumbent President Laurent Gbagbo led the first round with 38 percent of the vote and veteran opposition figure and former prime minister Alassane Ouattara came in second with 32 percent of the vote.)
