29 July 2016 S/RES/2303 The Council established a UN police component in Burundi of 228 officers for an initial period of one year.
1 April 2016 S/RES/2279 This was a resolution requesting the Secretary-General to provide options for a police component to increase UN presence in Burundi.
9 November 2015 S/RES/2248 This resolution expressed the Council's intention to consider additional measures against all Burundians who contribute to the perpetuation of violence and requested the Secretary-General to update the Council on the situation in Burundi within 15 days.

25 October 2006 S/RES/1719 This resolution requested the Secretary-General to establish a United Nations Integrated Office in Burundi, which was requested to conduct its activities taking the role of the Peacebuilding Commission into account.
29 September 2006 S/RES/1711 This resolution extended until 31 December the temporary redeployment of UN Operation in Burundi (ONUB) personnel to the UN Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUC).
30 June 2006 S/RES/1692 This resolution extended the UN Operation in Burundi's (ONUB) mandate until 31 December 2006.
10 April 2006 S/RES/1669 This resolution authorised the temporary redeployment of military and civilian personnel from the UN Operation in Burundi (ONUB) to the UN Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUC).
21 December 2005 S/RES/1650 This resolution extended the UN Operation in Burundi (ONUB) until 1 July 2005 and authorised the sharing of troops between UN Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUC) and the UN Operation in Burundi (ONUB).
