19 March 2018 S/PV.8209 This was a meeting at which the Council failed to garner nine votes to hold a briefing by High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra'ad al-Hussein.
18 April 2017 S/PV.7926 This was a meeting under the agenda item “Maintenance of international peace and security” focusing on “human rights and prevention of armed conflict”. It was the first time the Council discussed human rights thematically.

18 March 2016 S/PV.7652 This was a briefing by Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein and Ambassador Jürg Lauber (Switzerland), chair of the Burundi configuration of the Peacebuilding Commission, on the situation in Burundi.
19 February 2016 S/PV.7628 This was a briefing, followed by consultations, on the situation in South Sudan and on UNMISS, as well as on the work of the 2206 South Sudan Sanctions Committee.
11 December 2015 S/PV.7576 This was a meeting on the situation in Ukraine, including briefings by Deputy Secretary-General Jan Eliasson; Assistant Secretary-General for Human Rights Ivan Simonovic; Director of OCHA John Ging; and Ambassador Ertuğrul Apakan, Chief Monitor of the Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine of the OSCE.
10 December 2015 S/PV.7575 This was a meeting on the human rights situation in the DPRK, with briefings by High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein and Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs Jeffrey Feltman. China asked for a vote on the agenda which led to a procedural vote. The outcome of the vote was four against - China, Russia, Angola and Venezuala- two abstentions - Chad and Nigeria, and nine in favour.

8 July 2015 S/PV.7481 This was a briefing by Deputy Secretary-General Jan Eliasson and High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Al Hussein on the 20th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide. The Council voted on a draft resolution to commemorate the anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide, but it was vetoed by Russia and Angola. China, Nigeria and Venezuela abstained.
