Overview of Security Council Presidential Statements

This statement focused on threats to international peace and security. The Council reaffirmed its resolve to take appropriate and effective action against any threat to international peace and security caused by the proliferation of nuclear, chemical and biological weapons and their means of delivery. It also took note of a briefing by the chair of the PBC on the Commission’s activities relating to Burundi and encouraged all stakeholders to devise a sound peacebuilding strategic framework for the country.
