6 June 1998 S/RES/1172 This resolution called upon India and Pakistan to stop their nuclear weapons programmes and avoid the export of equipment and technology that could contribute to nuclear or missile programmes in other countries, encouraged all states to prevent the export of equipment or technology that could assist programmes in India or Pakistan, and urged all states that have not done so to become parties to the NPT and the CTBT.
28 May 1998 S/RES/1170 This resolution established an ad hoc working group for six months to review recommendations in the Secretary-General's 13 April 1998 report on conflict, prepare a framework for their implementation and make proposals for concrete action for the Council.
9 April 1998 S/RES/1161 This resolution requested the Secretary-General to reactivate the International Commission of Inquiry to collect information relating to the illegal flow of arms in the Great Lakes region.
31 March 1998 S/RES/1160 This resolution called upon the parties to take steps to achieve a peaceful solution, and referred to OSCE and Contact Group readiness to facilitate dialogue. Arms embargo on Kosovo and the FRY was imposed under Chapter VII.
19 December 1997 S/RES/1144 This resolution crated specialised training units within UNMIBH to address key public security issues, such as refugee returns; organised crime, drugs, corruption and terrorism; and public security crisis management (including crowd control); as well as training in the detection of financial crime and smuggling.
12 November 1997 S/RES/1137 This resolution determined that six US nationals working as UN inspectors expelled by Iraq was unacceptable and warned of serious consequences.
23 October 1997 S/RES/1134 This resolution expressed its firm intention to impose travel bans on Iraqi officials obstructing UN inspections.
8 October 1997 S/RES/1132 This resolution was on Sierra Leone and imposed an embargo on diamonds and petroleum.
12 June 1996 S/RES/1060 This resolution emphasised the importance of full compliance by Iraq with its obligations to permit immediate, unconditional and unrestricted access to UNSCOM to any site, and found unacceptable any attempts by Iraq to deny access to any such site.
7 September 1995 S/RES/1013 This resolution requested the establishment of an International Commission of Inquiry to collect information and investigate reports relating to the sale or supply of arms and related matériel to former Rwandan government forces.
16 August 1995 S/RES/1011 This resolution partially lifted the 1994 Rwanda arms embargo for supplies to the government.
14 April 1995 S/RES/986 This resolution established the oil-for-food program.
11 April 1995 S/RES/984 This resolution expressed its conviction that everything must be done to avoid nuclear war and prevent the spread of nuclear weapons as well as facilitate international cooperation in the peaceful use of nuclear energy.
17 May 1994 S/RES/918 This resolution imposed sanctions in connection with Rwanda and adjusted UNAMIR.
11 November 1993 S/RES/883 This resolution widened the travel ban imposed on Libyan individuals and imposed financial sanctions.
