21 January 2013 S/RES/2086 Emphasised the relationship between peacekeeping and peacebuilding.
29 May 2009 S/RES/1873 This renewed UNFICYP and noted the importance of contingency planning in relation to settlement.
31 August 2006 S/RES/1706 This resolution set a mandate for UN Mission in Sudan (UNMIS) in Darfur; mandated a multidimensional UN presence in Chad and the Central African Republic; and requested recommendations.
25 August 2006 S/RES/1704 This resolution established UNMIT, comprising 1,608 police and 34 military liaison officers.
11 August 2006 S/RES/1701 This resolution expanded UNIFIL by 15,000 troops and expanded its mandate.
17 October 2005 S/RES/1631 This resolution addressed the issue of cooperation between the UN and regional organisations and stressed the role of regional organisations in addressing the issue of small arms.
24 March 2005 S/RES/1590 This resolution established UN Mission in Sudan (UNMIS). This was the first resolution to affirm zero tolerance of sexual exploitation in all UN peacekeeping missions.
30 January 2003 S/RES/1460 This was a resolution on children in armed conflict noted with concern the exploitation of children by peacekeepers. This resolution requested specific proposals to ensure more efficient and effective monitoring and reporting. It also requested the Secretary-General to include the issue in country-specific reports.
13 June 2001 S/RES/1353 This resolution adopted a statement of principles on cooperation with TCCs.
7 September 2000 S/RES/1318 This was the adoption of the Millennium Summit declaration on ensuring an effective role for the Council in maintaining peace and security, especially in Africa.
