31 August 2006 S/RES/1706 This resolution set a mandate for UN Mission in Sudan (UNMIS) in Darfur; mandated a multidimensional UN presence in Chad and the Central African Republic; and requested recommendations.
25 August 2006 S/RES/1704 This resolution established UNMIT, comprising 1,608 police and 34 military liaison officers.
31 July 2006 S/RES/1698 This resolution extended sanctions to individuals recruiting or targeting children in situations of armed conflict, expressed the intention to consider measures over natural resources, and renewed the sanctions regime and the mandate of the Group of Experts until 31 July 2007.
21 December 2005 S/RES/1649 This resolution strengthened sanctions in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
26 July 2005 S/RES/1612 This resolution set up the Council's Working Group on Children and Armed Conflict and highlighted the link between illicit trafficking in small arms and the use of child soldiers.

28 July 2003 S/RES/1493 This resolution imposed an arms embargo.
30 January 2003 S/RES/1460 This was a resolution on children in armed conflict noted with concern the exploitation of children by peacekeepers. This resolution requested specific proposals to ensure more efficient and effective monitoring and reporting. It also requested the Secretary-General to include the issue in country-specific reports.
20 November 2001 S/RES/1379 This resolution requested the Secretary-General to attach to his report a list of parties to armed conflict that recruit or use children.
11 August 2000 S/RES/1314 This resolution urged member states to sign and ratify the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on the Involvement of Children in Armed Conflict.
30 August 1999 S/RES/1261 This resolution condemned targeting of children in situations of armed conflict, urged parties to armed conflict to take into consideration protection of children and urged states to facilitate DDR.
