16 July 2013 S/PRST/2013/10 This presidential statement welcomed the development of the UN Integrated Strategy for the Sahel as requested by resolution 2056 (2012) and the three strategic goals defining the strategy.
10 December 2012 S/PRST/2012/26 The Council expressed serious concern over the insecurity and the significant ongoing humanitarian crisis in the Sahel region, “which is further complicated by the presence of armed groups, including separatist movements, terrorist and criminal networks, and their increased activities, as well as the continued proliferation of weapons from within and outside the region that threaten peace, security, and stability.”

19 August 2008 S/PRST/2008/30 This statement condemned the Mauritanian military's overthrow of the democratically elected government; welcomed statements by the AU, the EU and other members of the international community condemning the coup; and demanded "the immediate release of President Sidi Mohamed Ould Cheikh Abdallahi and the restoration of the legitimate, constitutional, democratic institutions immediately";.
9 August 2006 S/PRST/2006/38 This presidential statement welcomed the decision of ECOWAS to transform the Moratorium on Import, Export and Manufacture of Light Weapons into a binding Convention on Small Arms and Light Weapons, their Ammunition and Other Related Materials.
25 February 2005 S/PRST/2005/9 The Council reaffirmed the crucial importance of the reintegration of ex-combatants, taking into account the special needs of child soldiers and women, in order to reverse the culture of violence and create an enabling environment for national reconciliation in countries emerging from conflict.
