19 December 2012 S/PRST/2012/27 The statement noted the remarkable achievements made since independence in 2002 and came as UNMIT prepared to conclude its mandate in the country on 31 December 2012.
21 January 2011 S/PRST/2011/2 This presidential statement was on post-conflict recovery: institution building, wherein the Council stressed its willingness to make greater use of the advisory role of the PBC.
19 August 2008 S/PRST/2008/29 This presidential statement reaffirmed support for UNMIT, and acknowledged that the political, security, social and humanitarian situation in the country remains fragile. The statement also reaffirmed the importance of the review and reform of the security sector and ongoing efforts to reach accountability and justice.
11 February 2008 S/PRST/2008/5 This presidential statement condemned attacks against Timorese President José Ramos-Horta and Prime Minister Xanana Gusmão, called on the Timorese government to bring those responsible to justice and urged all parties to resolve disputes through peaceful means.
10 September 2007 S/PRST/2007/33 This was adopted echoing the Secretary-General's support of the political progress in the country while highlighting the need for the parties to resolve any disputes through exclusively peaceful channels and within the framework of democratic institutions.
