16 June 2021 S/PV.8798 This was then annual debate on working methods, which was organised jointly by Estonia, the president of the Council in June, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, the Chair of the Informal Working Group on Documentation and Other Procedural Questions (IWG). The theme of this year’s open debate was “Agility and innovation: lessons for the future from the COVID-19 pandemic”. Ambassador I. Rhonda King (Saint Vincent and the Grenadines), the Chair of the IWG; Loraine Sievers, co-author of “The Procedure of the UN Security Council (4th edition)”; and Karin Landgren, the Executive Director of Security Council Report, briefed.
14 July 2020 S/PV.8746 This was the Council's first physical meeting since 12 March where they considered and adopted without a vote the draft report of the Security Council to the General Assembly covering 1 January to 31 December 2019.
20 August 2019 S/PV.8597 Meeting records from the Council's adoption of its annual report to the General Assembly for 2018. Presenting the report, its introduction’s drafter, the UK, encouraged future presidencies in charge of presenting the report to the Assembly “to report to Council members on relevant suggestions and observations raised during the debate”.

17 December 2018 S/PV.8428 The outgoing chairs of Council subsidiary bodies briefed the Council about their experience, describing the different challenges encountered in the work of each body, sharing lessons learned and providing advice to their successors.
