18 April 2013 S/PV.6949 The Council received briefings on the humanitarian situation in Syria from Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs Valerie Amos, High Commissioner for Refugees Antonio Guterres, Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Sexual Violence in Conflict Zainab Bangura, and Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Children and Armed Conflict Leila Zerrougui .

30 August 2012 S/PV.6826 France, as president of the Council in August 2012, presided over this meeting on the humanitarian situation in Syria. The Council was briefed by Deputy Secretary-General Jan Eliasson and High Commissioner for Refugees Antonio Guterres. Foreign Ministers from Jordan and Turkey as well as ministers from Iraq and Lebanon also participated.
