26 June 2023 A/77/L.79 A General Assembly resolution that established the Independent Institution on Missing Persons in the Syrian Arab Republic.
21 December 2016 A/RES/71/248 Established the International, Impartial and Independent Mechanism to assist in the investigation and prosecution of those responsible for the most serious crimes under international law committed in Syria since March 2011. The resolution was drafted by Liechtenstein and was passed with 105 votes in favour to 15 against with 52 abstentions.
9 December 2016 A/RES/71/130 Expressed outrage at the recent escalation of violence, particularly in Aleppo, and demanded an immediate and complete end to all attacks on civilians and civilian objects and to all sieges throughout the country. The resolution was drafted by Canada and was passed by 122 votes in favour to 13 against with 36 abstentions.
2 November 2015 A/C.3/70/L.47 This was General Assembly’s Third Committee adopted a resolution drafted by Saudi Arabia that condemns the Syrian regime and ISIS and expresses regret that a May 2014 Security Council draft resolution referring the situation in Syria to ICC was not adopted.
18 December 2013 A/RES/68/182 Condemned human rights violations in Syria and urged the Security Council to take measures to end violations there. The resolution was drafted by Saudi Arabia and was passed by 127 votes in favor, 13 against and 47 abstentions.
15 May 2013 A/RES/67/262 Strongly condemned the Syrian government's indiscriminate violence against civilian populations and welcomed the establishment of the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces as interlocutors needed for a political transition.
3 August 2012 A/RES/66/253 B This resolution deplored the Security Council's failure to act on Syria and called for a political transition.
16 February 2012 A/RES/66/253 This General Assembly resolution condemned the violence in Syria, endorsed the Arab League’s 22 January on a Syrian political transition, and requested the Secretary-General to appoint a special envoy for Syria.
19 December 2011 A/RES/66/176 This General Assembly resolution condemned the violence in Syria and called for the full implementation of the Arab League’s November 2011 initiative.
