On 10 August the Security Council is expected to adopt a resolution on the sanctions regime on the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). This follows a short rollover of the existing resolution on 31 July to enable Council members to weigh up a recent deterioration of the situation in the east of the country as well as a request from the government to modify the arms embargo.
