PAID INTERNSHIP*: SECURITY COUNCIL REPORT
35+ hours per week at $15 per hour

Security Council Report (SCR) is seeking a full-time intern for a period of 6 to 12 months, to start on 15 May.

SCR’s mission is to advance the transparency and effectiveness of the UN Security Council. We provide timely, balanced, high-quality information about and analysis of the Security Council’s activities and those of its subsidiary bodies. We also deliver capacity-building and convene groups of stakeholders to share information and analyses of issues on the Council’s agenda, its working methods, and performance, including on topics such as peacekeeping, sanctions, human rights, and women, peace and security.

SCR is not part of the United Nations. We are an independent, impartial, non-governmental organization.

SCR is looking for highly motivated candidates with demonstrated skills in research and analysis, and some knowledge of the workings of the UN Security Council. Excellent drafting and fact-checking skills in English are essential. Priority will be given to candidates with (or working towards) a graduate degree in international relations, international law, or journalism. UN experience, and/or studying the UN or international organizations, and/or specialized knowledge of an issue before the Security Council are highly desirable. Knowledge of another UN working language would be an asset. Candidates must be prepared to work in SCR’s offices some days of the week. *
