On 30 April, an informal interactive dialogue was held with the Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and the Sri Lanka Permanent Representative participating. On 24 April, the Council held another informal interactive dialogue involving the Sri Lankan government, the Secretary-General’s Chief of Staff, and the Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs. The President of the Council made “informal remarks to the press”.
March 2009
On 26 March, the Council held an informal, interactive dialogue on Sri Lanka in the basement of the UN with the Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and the Sri Lanka Permanent Representative participating.
February 2009
On 27 February, the Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs briefed the Council on the humanitarian situation in Sri Lanka under “Other Matters”.
