Security Council Resolution

  • S/RES/1923 (25 May 2010) extended the mandate of MINURCAT until 31 December 2010.
  • S/RES/1922 (12 May 2010) extended the mandate of MINURCAT until 26 May 2010
  • S/RES/1913 (12 March 2010) extended the mandate of MINURCAT until 15 May 2010.
  • S/RES/1861 (14 January 2009) extended the mandate of MINURCAT until 15 March 2010.
  • S/RES/1834 (24 September 2008) renewed MINURCAT until 15 March 2009.
  • S/RES/1778 (25 September 2007) established UN Mission in the Central African Republic and Chad (MINURCAT).
  • S/RES/1706 (31 August 2006) mandated a multidimensional UN presence in Chad and the Central African Republic and requested recommendations.

Presidential Statements

  • S/PRST/2010/29 (20 December 2010) urged Chad to assume full responsibility for the sustainment of DIS as soon as possible and requested that the Secretary-General report on the progress made in eastern Chad on the protection of civilians by 30 April 2011.
  • S/PRST/2009/13 (8 May 2009) condemned renewed military incursions in eastern Chad by "Chadian armed groups, coming from outside”.
  • S/PRST/2008/22 (16 June 2008) was a statement on the June rebel offensive in Chad.
  • S/PRST/2008/15 (13 May 2008) condemned the attack near Khartoum and warned that no retaliatory action should be taken against civilian populations, or that had an impact on stability in the region.
  • S/PRST/2008/3 (4 February 2008) contained an expression of support to external military assistance to the Chadian government.
  • S/PRST/2007/30 (27 August 2007) expressed readiness to authorise deployments in Chad and the Central African Republic.
  • S/PRST/2007/2 (16 January 2007) requested further recommendations on peacekeeping in Chad and the Central African Republic and on an advance mission.
  • S/PRST/2006/53 (15 December 2006) was a statement on Chad.
Press Statements
  • SC/9614 (17 March 2009) welcomed the successful transfer of authority on 15 March from EUFOR to MINURCAT, noted with satisfaction the completion of the deployment of the DIS, stresed the importance of a further improvement of regional relations, recalled their demand all armed groups in Chad and the CAR renounce violence and encouraged the authorities and political stakeholders in Chad the CAR to continue to pursue their efforts of national dialogue. 
  • SC/9295 (9 April 2008) expressed concern with the situation in eastern Chad and north-eastern CAR, encouraged the governments of both countries to promote national dialogue and also encouraged implementation of the Sudan-Chad Dakar Agreement.

  • S/PV.6111 (24 April 2009) was a briefing by Edmond Mulet, Assistant Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations on the Secretary-General's report on MINURCAT.
