Resolution
  • S/RES/1825 (23 July 2008) extended UNMIN's mandate for six months and endorsed the Secretary-General's plan for a gradual drawdown and withdrawal of the mission.
  • S/RES/1796 (23 January 2008) extended UNMIN's mandate for six months.     
  • S/RES/1740  (23 January 2007) was the resolution establishing the UN Mission in Nepal (UNMIN) for twelve months.
Secretary-General's Reports
  • S/2008/454 (10 July 2008) was the Secretary-General's report recommending a further six month extension of UNMIN's mandate depending on the government's clarifications.
  • S/2008/313 (12 May 2008) was the Secretary-General's report stating that he did not expect an extension of UNMIN’s mandate which would expire on 23 July. 
  • S/2008/5 (3 January 2008) was the Secretary-General's report on UN Mission in Nepal (UNMIN).
  • S/2007/612 (18 October 2007) was the report of the Secretary-General on the request of Nepal for UN assistance in support of its peace process and called the postponement of constituent assembly elections for a second time "a major disappointment."
  • S/2007/442 (18 July 2007) expressed optimism that the peace process would achieve its goal but also stated that the political scene had become more complex in the past few months. 
  • S/2007/235 (26 April 2007) was the report discussing the progress of UN assistance in support of Nepal's peace process.
  • S/2007/7   (9 January 2007) was the report containing recommendations on the mandate of the proposed UN mission in Nepal.   
  • S/2006/1007  (20 December 2006) was the Secretary-General's report on children and armed conflict in Nepal.
Selected Letter
  • S/2008/476 (8 July 2008) contained Nepal's request for an extension of UNMIN on a smaller scale.
  • S/2006/920  (22 November 2006) contained Nepal's 9 August 2006 request for UN assistance in the peace process.
Presidential Statement
  • S/PRST/2006/49 (1 December 2006) expressed support for the Secretary-General's intention to send a technical assessment team to Nepal and noted that the Council would await formal proposals.
Press Statement
  • SC/9288  (27 M arch 2008) welcomed progress towards constituent assembly elections in Nepal.
