BINDING MEASURES IMPOSED BY THE COUNCIL

This page is under development and when completed it will explain the Charter provisions which give the United Nations Security Council power to adopt rules which can become immediately binding on all States under international law. This often requires states to amend or pass new legislation in their Parliaments to ensure that the Council measure is able to be enforced.

Our goal, over time, is to develop, and maintain a database of current binding measures and provide links to it on this page.
